I encourage everyone in this voting district to attend. The candidates need to see that their constituents are interested and want to be involved. There is a psychological aspect to politics, and showing up at these kinds of events can make a difference. If nothing else, it shows the politicians that the people are paying attention; perhaps they will be more likely to behave themselves properly if they know we are watching, know we will challenge them if they do wrong, congratulate them if they do well.
As I always say, "vote with your face."
